Starter:
Being selfish is when you only care about yourself. You don’t care about what anyone else wants. You don’t care where anyone else wants to go. You don’t care what anyone else wants to eat. You don’t care how anyone else feels. You only care about what you want, where you want to go, what you want to eat, and how you feel. Jesus taught us to think of others. He left heaven to come to this earth so that he might serve us and to die on the cross. Jesus never thought of himself. He only thought of others.
Weekly Memory Verse:
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:4
Discussion Questions:
Beginner: Are we being selfish when we don’t share with others? Are we being selfish when we always insist on having the last piece of pie? What would Jesus do if someone wanted to play with his toys? What would Jesus do if there were only one piece of pie left?
Intermediate: What did Jesus have to give up to come to earth? Where was Jesus born? Was Jesus poor or rich? How did Jesus die? Why did Jesus do all of this? Did Jesus ever think of himself?
Advanced: What are some things we can do to think of others?

Song: Why Did My Savior Come to Earth?
Why did my Savior come to earth,
And to the humble go?
Why did He choose a lowly birth?
Why did He choose a lowly birth?
Because He loved me so!”
Chorus
He loved me so;
He loved me so;
He gave His precious life for me,
He gave His precious life for me,
Because He loved me so.
Why did He drink the bitter cup
Of sorrow, pain, and woe?
Why on the cross be lifted up?
Why on the cross be lifted up?
Because He loved me so!
Chorus
Till Jesus comes I’ll sing His praise,
And then to glory go,
And reign with Him through endless days,
And reign with Him through endless days,
Because He loved me so!
Chorus
