Family Devotional: Philippians 4:6-7

Starter:
Dont you like to talk to someone who cares about you when youre hurting or upset about something? Who do you talk to? Is it your mom or dad? Or maybe its a grandparent or a special teacher? There are a lot of people who love you, but no one loves you more than God! He knows when youre hurt or when youre worried. And He not only knows, but He cares and He wants you to talk with Him about all your problems. What a blessing we have to take our every need to the Lord in prayer!

Weekly Memory Verse:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Song: What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a Friend we have in Jesus! All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms Hell take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
