Battles in my Mind

In the book, The Art of War, Sun Tzu states, “All warfare is based on deception.”

The human mind is a marvelous instrument, the mind can reach back and recreate a scene from our past or it can reach forward and create an eventuality which is yet to come. The power of the mind that our Creator has blessed each of us is marvelous. Truly we are “fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:14) With this being said, there exists in our minds the ability to consider a matter …. To mentally examine it… to consider … reflect upon … to think about life. However, we fight a battle, not of flesh but with an enemy who is the “father of lies” (John 8:44). We all fight battles in our minds. We wrestle with Feelings vs. Facts, The Past vs. The Future, and Truth vs. Lies. As Paul wrote: “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)

This is small group Bible study whose goal is to help equip us with God's wisdom for winning these Battles. We will discuss:

  1. Surveying the Battlefield
  2. God’s Power to Demolish Strongholds
  3. Heart of the matter
